Guess What They Found During Final Excavation in Oak Island!
Oak Island season 11 has leaked, and this thrillingly adventurous season is all you would want in a treasure hunt series.
The season starts with the exploration of Lot 5, located on the island’s west side. And not long after the exploration starts, treasures begin to reveal themselves — like the finding of five coins in this lot.
What other amazing secrets will be revealed this season? Are these findings just unique in their way or part of a puzzle leading to a bigger treasure?
Join us as we delve into Oak Island Season 11 best moments that have just been leaked.
Findings in Lot 5
Successful decades of treasure hunting with Rick, Marty, and the Lagina Oak Island team have led to this moment.
Season 11, Episode 1 is called “On the Money,” and it starts intensely with thrillers like no other.
As the team explores Lot 5, the myth of Oak Island still found a way to surprise after decades of hunting. Lot 5 is the last plot to be explored, and some people believe it would bring little to the table since it lacks infrastructure.
However, the team, full of faith in the island’s ability, went ahead. Regardless of those disbelievers, they invented discovery methods and then began their expedition.
Four Coins Tied to the Knights Templar
Not long after exploring Lot 5, they came across four coins closely together. The amount of money that could fit into this little field is astonishing and calls for further investigation into how they arrived here.
Some speculate that these coins are the remnants of an even more significant treasure horde associated with the Knights Templar.
In simpler terms, how can one come across even four coins at such a small distance? What does this hint at?
The involvement with the Knight Templar still raises debates as the team speculates if something more lies under their land. Though there’s convincing evidence by circumstances, conclusiveness still defies it.
Prehistoric Lead Barter Token
As they continued searching, Gary found a prehistoric lead barter token. The scalloped sides of this artifact have high historical value and are very similar to the Smith’s Cove lead cross discovered in 2017.
These lead artifacts belong to civilizations as old as the 14th century. Indeed, this corresponds to the hypothesis that the Knights Templar — a medieval order known for its wealth and mysterious rituals — could have been connected to the mystery of Oak Island.
At first sight, the coins are ordinary, but scrutiny reveals an elaborately designed pattern made up of symbols and signs.
Consulting a Numismatist
This interesting finding led the group to consult eminent numismatist Sandy Campbell to provide insight into these coins.
Sandy’s team, with over 40 years of experience in ancient and rare coin analysis, is confident their insights will solve the riddle that emerged in Lot 5.
It would not be easy to assume that chance led to the immense discovery of five coins — it would have been an intentional act or event.
Knowing such issues, Sandy could know what lies within those coins.
Sandy’s team, consisting of experienced numismatists and researchers, also made many successful analyses for obscure or complex types of coins. Together, they cover various numismatic areas like metallurgy, iconography, paleography, and provenance analyses.
Analyzing the Coins
Such careful examination of the coin’s design, materials, and minting methods is sure to yield important insights regarding their origin.
A keen inspection of historical documents and numismatic databases will be undertaken to determine their circulation characteristics and associations with particular civilizations or time periods.
The team’s goal is clear: find where the coins came from and learn the history behind them. This context offers deeper insight into their historical significance.
Sandy studies the coin very closely and notices writing and specific symbols. She stops for a while, then admits that it’s an Indian coin produced between the 6th and 8th century AD.
A Global Coin Puzzle
This discovery adds a twist to an already puzzling assortment of coins. A coin believed to originate from India ends up in Oak Island among several coins from Europe.
And this raises a big question. How?
There is also English plunder, Spanish treasure, and even Chinese gold — making the riddle more complex.
Amidst this financial chaos, Sandy makes another groundbreaking discovery: a small piece of gold hidden in one of the coins. Intricate designs inscribed onto its surface authenticate it as a Roman blaze.
The discovery adds another Roman coin to the collection — doubling the team’s fortune.
A Roman Coin and More Clues
On inspection, they see the face of a man with a pointed chin and curious nose. Turning the coin, they find two figures in an embrace, which could date before BC.
Sandy, without a doubt, professes this is the biggest coin ever found on Oak Island.
The Island’s Ongoing Mystery
Oak Island, a tiny island along Nova Scotia’s shore, has fascinated treasure seekers and historians for centuries.
Its intrigue lies in clues like the Money Pit, a deep hole many believe is filled with gold.
In this maze of mystery, the finding of three Roman coins in Lot 5 has deepened the suspense. These ancient artifacts are thought to be over 2,000 years old.
Mysterious Metallic Object
Following the discovery of a strange radar signal in Lot 5, archaeologists used a metal detector to hunt for relics in the same area.
They found a huge metallic device buried in the hard earth. Marty Lagina thinks it may have been part of a cellar metal lid. The team speculates that whatever door it belonged to could have housed the Money Pit.
The metal artifact is taken to the interpretive center. Emma Culligan, an archaeometallurgist, uses CT scanning to determine the object’s shape.
Laird Niven determines it’s a river spike, possibly pre-1840s due to the lack of manganese.
Fipps Theory and Hidden Tunnel
This spike closely matches artifacts found near the birthplace of Sir William Phips, who, some believe, buried treasure on Oak Island after robbing a Spanish galleon.
Later, a sonic drill passed through the 10th foot of a soft zone, igniting excitement as it matched sonar readings from before.
Geologist Terry Matheson and team drilled near the garden shaft while others continued at Lot 5.
Borehole B5N13 produced clues about a soft, semi-molten area, hinting that the original Money Pit or a collapsed chamber was nearby.
Tunnel Network and Shipwreck Clues
They also discovered a maze of tunnels crawling underground in Lot 5, showing signs of intelligent construction.
Artifacts and buried trenches portray a civilization long gone.
Meanwhile, Tony Sampson’s sea dive revealed wood logs and decorated pottery — possibly evidence of ancient shipwrecks or lost settlements.
Knights Templar Theories
Halpern, a researcher of the Knights Templar, suggests a covert expedition to Oak Island with treasure in tow. Marty Lagina noticed commonalities with ancient Templar areas in Portugal.
These findings — Roman coins, Indian and Chinese artifacts, and now Knight Templar links — add further depth to the mystery.
Unusual Red Earthenware
Lear Niven’s team explored circular depressions in Lot 5. Most man-made changes are believed to have been made by Robert Young, the former caretaker.
Still, some suspect this was part of a multi-century project.
Archaeologists Jaime Kuba and Fiona Steel found red earthenware pottery — possibly from the 17th to 18th century — with a strange purple-black glaze.
They couldn’t identify its historical origin but suspected it was very early.
Money Pit Timeline Speculation
Nan suggested the Money Pit might have been found in the 16th century, indicating early settlement activity long before Rick Lagina’s efforts.
Drowned Debris & Sunken Relics
At the same time, Jack Begley and Alex Lagina joined Tony Sampson and Ken D’bor to investigate a northern body of water believed to hold man-made structures.
Though nothing recovered can be examined without a permit, they found sunken wooden planks, pottery, a clay sailor’s pipe, and an object resembling a coin.
These discoveries suggest either a shipwreck or settlement, tying back to the ever-growing mystery.
Final Thoughts
Although many questions remain unanswered, the Lagina brothers remain optimistic.
They believe they are closer than ever to unlocking Oak Island’s mysteries and revealing its secrets.
