Resident Alien Season 4 Episode 7 RECAP: Will Harry Really Kill to Get His Powers Back?
Season 4 of Resident Alien is clearly heading towa
rd a dramatic end,
and episode 7 titled Daddy Issues proves just how intense things are getting for everyone in Patience.
With Harry trying to reclaim his alien powers and Mike finally zeroing in on the mantid’s true identity,
there’s no shortage of suspense.
Emotions are high, truths are coming out, and life in this small town may never be the same again.
Let’s break down everything that happened in this packed episode in simple, detailed, and easygoing language.
Harry has been desperate to get his alien energy back.
After learning that his alien father has the ability to return his powers to him,
Harry is on a mission to prove that he’s still worthy of them.
But there’s a catch.
His father will only help if Harry agrees to return to his original plan of destroying Earth.
Of course, that plan doesn’t sit right with Harry anymore.
Ever since he’s been living as a human, experiencing emotions, relationships, and pizza, he’s changed.
He doesn’t really want to wipe out humanity,
but he has to act like he does just to get his powers restored.
Meanwhile, Sheriff Mike is deep in alien territory, too.
Not literally, but mentally.
He’s still obsessed with figuring out the identity of the mysterious Manted, a dangerous alien who could destroy Earth.
Mike’s been following clues for a while,
and in this episode, he finally gets the hint he needs: smoking.
The Manted smokes, and that tiny clue is enough to set everything into motion.
Back in the Hawthorne household, Ben and Kate are in complete chaos mode.
Their baby is back after being abducted by aliens,
and now they have to come up with a believable story for how she suddenly reappeared.
Ben, being Ben, throws out one ridiculous idea after another,
but it’s Max who delivers the most logical answer:
Why not just tell everyone they adopted her?
Simple, clean, and believable.
But there’s still a lingering issue.
They haven’t even given her a name yet.
And with Darcy in the mix, things get even trickier.
When she sees the baby and the baby smiles at her,
Kate realizes Darcy knows more than she’s letting on.
It’s obvious Darcy was on that alien ship.
And now Kate is determined to find out what she’s hiding.
Over at the diner, AA is having her own crisis.
She’s been pushed into the background for most of the season,
but now she’s getting a little more focus.
When her dad, Dan, comes back into town, he tells her he’s thinking of selling the diner.
It’s a huge shock.
Dan says he doesn’t want AA to be stuck in Patience forever.
He traveled the world before settling down and he wants her to have that same freedom.
But AA is not sure how to feel about it.
She’s always been the responsible one, helping Harry, taking care of the diner, working as a nurse,
and now she’s starting to question whether she’s been living her own life or just doing everything for everyone else.
What really pushes AA over the edge though,
is when she finds out that Harry is seriously considering killing someone to get his powers back.
The person in question is her abusive ex-boyfriend.
She tries to stop Harry, reminding him that killing is never the answer.
Thankfully, Harry ends up agreeing.
He decides not to kill the ex,
though not before having an intense conversation with him.
In a strange twist, it’s the ex who delivers a pretty deep piece of advice:
“Sometimes parents are the worst people for their children.”
That line hits Harry, especially with everything going on with his own alien father.
Speaking of Harry’s dad, he’s not done testing his son.
To prove whether Harry is truly committed to destroying Earth, he does something extreme:
he kidnaps Max.
Max had recently confronted Harry about some money,
but now he’s being used as leverage.
Harry’s dad tells him that if Harry doesn’t kill Max, he will.
This moment pushes Harry to make an impossible decision.
In the end, he chooses to protect Max and kills his own father instead.
It’s a heartbreaking yet heroic choice.
And in a strange twist of fate, killing his father results in Harry getting his alien energy back.
Anyway, he holds Max in a hug just as Ben and Kate walk in,
discovering the check Harry had written for Max earlier.
It’s another big reveal.
And now even more people know Harry is an alien.
The truth is finally out.
Back with Mike and Liv, the Manted mystery continues.
They’ve narrowed it down to two people: FBI agent Jules Gardner and Lena.
Mike thinks it’s Jules, but they need proof.
Jules manages to fool Liv during an initial interrogation,
and for a moment, they think maybe it’s actually Lena.
But then Mike catches Jules smoking and everything clicks.
She is the Manted.
Not only that, but she can read minds, which is how she managed to pass Liv’s test so easily.
With this new knowledge, Mike and Liv now know what they’re really up against.
The question is, who will believe them?
And more importantly, how are they going to stop Jules before it’s too late?
By the end of episode 7, the stakes couldn’t be higher.
Harry has his powers back, but at a terrible cost.
More people know about his true identity, which could either help him or create more danger.
Mike and Liv have identified the Manted,
but they still don’t have a solid plan for taking her down.
AA is starting to feel the pull toward a life outside Patience,
and Kate now suspects Darcy is hiding something huge
as the season rushes toward its final episodes.
Everything is coming to a head.
This episode was full of emotional highs, character growth, and life-changing decisions.
Harry proved that he values human life more than alien orders,
even if it meant killing his own father.
Mike used his instincts to finally identify the alien threat they’ve been chasing for so long.
And AA’s quiet pain is starting to rise to the surface, signaling that big changes might be coming for her, too.
It’s clear that Resident Alien is setting the stage for a huge finish.
With Harry powered up again, the truth about his alien origin spreading,
and the Manted fully exposed, things are getting wild in Patience.
Whether it’s the beginning of the end or just the start of an even bigger conflict,
one thing’s for sure:
the calm days in this small town are officially over.
