Exclusive: Gold Rush Sees Paca Schneble Get Big Red Ready for Mud Mountain

Paca Schneble is in moving day mode on the next Gold Rush. The crew is folding up the enormous wash plant, Big Red, getting it ready to move to Mud Mountain.
In the TV show’s exclusive clip, Schneble states:
“The only thing we can do is try to make as much money as we can and have a good war chest built up to start in Alaska.”

Paca has deeply invested in this season’s expanded mining footprint, but he worries about being stretched too thin.
The potential payout could be the largest in the show’s history if his hunches prove correct.

The Gamble: $4 Million for Mud Mountain

After securing new ground in Alaska, 27-year-old Paca Schneble heads back to the Yukon.
His season now rests on a big bet: the deepest claim ever, named Mud Mountain.

Driving to the site, Schneble says:
“This season, we put a lot of our eggs in the Mud Mountain basket. Hopefully, there’s tons of gold in there.”

To date, Paca has gambled $4 million on this claim. His team has already spent 10 weeks stripping and prepping the site.
Thinking about moving equipment, he says:
“Everybody over there should be switching on Mud Mountain when I get back. We’ll see what ends up happening.”

With the airstrip cut completed, the team begins packing up Big Red, moving it to Mud Mountain piece by piece.

Arrival at Mud Mountain

At Indian River, the crew’s moment finally arrives as Big Red is folded up and stacked, ready for transport. A truck arrives right on schedule to haul Big Red to its new assignment.
Crew boss Mitch Blaschke notes:
“The truck’s timing is on the money.”

Preliminary tests at Mud Mountain estimate 8,000 ounces of gold, equating to approximately $14 million.
If the cut delivers, it could secure Paca as the most prosperous miner in Gold Rush history. He would surpass Tony Beets in volume.

Early Setbacks

However, gold prospecting pans reveal less promising news.
Crew boss Mitch Blaschke remarks while examining the pans:
“So far, what I’m seeing here looks terrible. All the pans have been poor.”

Despite the disappointing start, Paca is determined to mine out the cut within one season.

Big Red’s Role

Big Red has been the cornerstone of Paca’s mining operations for years, enduring immense wear and tear.
Before taking on Mud Mountain’s treacherous conditions—marked by soft ground, steep inclines, and limited daylight—the machine requires a full overhaul.

Paca shares his sentiments about Big Red:
“It’s the heart and soul of this operation. Without it, we wouldn’t have gotten this far.”

The overhaul includes rebuilding the undercarriage, replacing hydraulic systems, and reconditioning the engine to handle the heavy workload.

Race Against Time

The repairs progress under tight deadlines as rain and winter loom.
Paca remains optimistic, saying:
“If Big Red fails, it could cost us everything. But once it’s ready, we’ll hit this operation hard.”

The crew works tirelessly, reassembling Big Red and ensuring it’s in peak condition.

The First Test

Finally, Big Red roars back to life. With pride, Paca exclaims:
“Looks like she’s ready to go. Let’s see what she can do.”

The crew heads to Mud Mountain, where Big Red faces its ultimate challenge. The treacherous terrain puts the machine to the test, but it delivers.
As Big Red digs deeper, the promise of gold emerges, reigniting hope for a record-breaking season.
