BIG SAD! 😢 A Gold Rush Family Laments Parker Schnabel's Death
You’re watching Gold Rushin’ or Rushin’. We’re recapping the season 15 episode Parker’s Bombshell.
So, what happened?
Parker starts the episode driving and narrating. Then it’s time for a meeting—without telling anyone ahead of time. Parker spent $2.5 million buying ground from his immediate neighbor. Worried about a lack of money and crew, his team just stares blankly and rubs their faces.
And then Parker continues the episode by driving and narrating. Then continues the episode by excavating and narrating. Then continues the episode with a wash plant move.
Really, really, they need to move wash plant Bob to the new Sulfur Creek claim, 25 miles away, in one day. Wash plant move!
So what could make this wash plant move any different? Well, how about this:
Tyson starts the day with a yellow shirt with a dirty shoulder. Then, once they arrive, he switches to a gray t-shirt. Moments later, he’s back in the yellow shirt—but now the shoulder is clean. Then he switches back to the dirty yellow shirt. Then he’s back in his gray shirt, before switching back to his yellow shirt, but now accessorized with a black hoodie.
Fantastic.
Wash plant Bob somehow suffers a broken feed lip during the move, but it’s quickly repaired and reinforced.
And it’s cleanup time!
-
The Long Cut finds 217.7 oz.
-
Big Red finds 77.1 oz.
-
The last of Cannon Stewart’s ground finds 98.8 oz.
-
Sulfur Creek finds 141.5 oz.
And for those who care, Tyson ends the episode in a blue shirt.
Kevin is finally singing—until a rock gets stuck in the pre-wash. Kevin first tries to remove it using the power of a sledgehammer, but then it’s just picked up and chucked out instead.
Speaking of rocks, they’re breaking the long spray bars. So Kevin makes shorter ones. And Kevin’s first cleanup of the year finds 33 oz.
Tony starts his segment bare-chested (so, by the children). Meanwhile, the trommel’s baffles are misaligned and sending water the wrong way, undermining the foundation of the sluice runs.
Rather than fix the baffles, Tony chooses to just rip them out. He also swears and stares menacingly. Neither the swears, nor the stares, nor the removed baffles solve the issues.
He switches to adding steel sheets to divert the water back into the trommel. There’s also more swearing—but you probably already knew that. And a cleanup finds… with Mike driving and narrating.
Wow, we’ve come full circle.
Tune in next time, when Tony—faced with a non-starting excavator—fixes it by climbing into the cab completely naked, which causes the excavator to be instantly turned on.
They just can’t help themselves with the wash plant moves. And they just can’t help themselves with continuity errors. Just the two hallmarks of Gold Rush.
