At the start of Season 5, a series of interconnected tunnels were discovered — soon referred to as the “flood tunnels.” These submerged passageways suggested advanced drainage systems or hidden chambers.

Another anomaly, dubbed the Chapel Vault, was detected near the Money Pit. To explore further, the team pushed forward with the “10X Project,” reaching depths never before achieved. They broke through a wooden platform, the first such penetration in over a century.

Season 6

Building on the momentum, Season 6 focused on both the Money Pit and Smith’s Cove.

Seasons 9 & 10

Season 9 centered on the search for the Chappelle Vault. Treacherous flooding forced the team to rely on pumps, cameras, and advanced equipment.

Inside the vault, they uncovered old timbers, drainage systems, and artifacts including a wooden box, a funnel-shaped metal object, and gold and silver coins. More importantly, a chest containing ancient scrolls and documents was found. These artifacts promised to shed light on the true builders of Oak Island’s structures.

They also discovered a chain of interconnected shafts, tunnels, and traces of charcoal and timber — clear signs of past human activity.

However, constant flooding and dangerous geology forced them to halt exploration at times.

Season 11

Lot 5 became the centerpiece of Season 11. Here, discoveries included Roman coins, English bricks inscribed “1347,” and Spanish treasure — finds spanning multiple civilizations.

Among the artifacts were a lead token, a pre-BC Roman coin containing gold, and even Chinese gold. These finds created a confusing but fascinating picture of Oak Island’s past.

A large metallic anomaly was also detected, possibly a sealed entrance to a hidden chamber.

Historian Charles Barkhouse reinforced the theory that the Knights Templar may have hidden their treasure on the island.

Conclusion
